Kid Kazooey & The BallRoom Roustabouts’ long awaited new recording, Umpteen Moons, is well worth the wait! Described as “caffeine for kids”, by Kid Kazooey, it is the perfect obverse to Kazooey’s earlier Christmas lullaby release. “One record is great for putting them to bed, and the other for waking them up!”, says Kid.
With 14 original tunes and 2 traditional instrumentals, the 52 minute long CD stays mainly in the pop rock idiom, with day trips in folk, ragtime, tango and klezmer. Instrumentation is electric guitar, bass and drums throughout, while featuring accordion, saxophone, banjo, melodica, recorder, and kazoo, of course!
Kid Kazooey’s Lullaby Christmas Carols
Kid Kazooey shows us his more quiet side with the release of his newest recording, “Kid Kazooey’s Lullaby Christmas Carols”. Just in time for the holidays, these 12 traditional Christmas Carols are performed sweetly and instrumentally on ukulele, flute, accordion, and guitar.
Peter Jacobi writes in The Herald Times, “All of the music, so gently performed, will calm your nerves, too.” Kid Kazooey writes, “I only wish Grandpa could have heard it. He’d love this CD!” The CD is available in Bloomington at Landlocked Records and The Green Nursery, in Nashville at The Weed Patch, and online at www.kidkazooey.com, www.CDBaby.com and on iTunes.

Kid Kazooey’s One Man Band
Kevin MacDowell is Kid Kazooey, the singing and swinging, one man band librarian! Though his Masters of Library Science has not landed him a permanent library job, his lifelong pursuit of music has sent him to libraries, schools, daycares, and other venues as a fresh, exciting, and uninhibited performer of music for children of all ages.
Not only does Kid Kazooey perform live as a one man band (check him out on Youtube!), he also plays all the instruments on this recording (though, not at the same time, thanks to the miracle of overdubbing… ask George Martin and the Beatles about overdubbing!)!
The songs on this recording were almost all written while working in the trenches at a Bloomington Indiana daycare, during walks, playtime, and naptime. They are therefore already tried out on the pre-school aged audience, and sure to please any 2-5 year old kid, straight out of the box!
