    Kazooey on Keys

I’ve been cautiously optimistic about the strides Monroe County has taken towards viral mitigation, and now I’m even fully vaccinated, and I’m starting to perform in public again! This fun shot is from an epic busking moment on the streets of donwtown Bloomington, with a cute and toneful small size acoustic piano that my buddy Ross and I (He’s the one playing that snare drum) transported in the back of his mini-van!

I’ve been playing a LOT more piano than guitar, or even ukulele, these days. Piano is my first instrument, since I was 4 years old! And as much as I love to rock out on guitar, I have to admit that piano is my strongest instrument, and where I can most effortleslly express myself musically.

I also have been experimenting with playing more to ADULTS these days! Shocking, I know! But you know, I’ve been performing as Kid Kazooey to little kids for over 25 years, and a lot of those kids have grown up now and still enjoy a little kazooey in their musical offerings! You can catch my “Kazooey on Keys” show at the Orbit Room coming up real soon, Saturday, June 5, from 6 – 8pm. There’s a cover charge of $10, and the venue is SMALL – only room for 18 folks! If you don’t already know, The Orbit Room is WAY cool! It’s a miniature pinball palace, a gourmet hot dog (AND NOT dog) must eat eatery, and groovy local Bloomington Music Scene venue! This show IS for 21 year olds and older ONLY.

Keep checking back here at the website for more upcoming dates, and reach out to me if you have any questions! Remember, I REALLY AM a librarian, so I’m trained to meet your informational needs!

    Love and respect, Kid Kazooey

  • Summer 2019

Once again some fun gigs coming your way this summer! From Bloomington Concerts in the park, to Birthday Parties and fundraisers and live radio broadcasts! Not only from Kid Kazooey & the BallRoom Roustabouts, but also the most recent roustabout spin-off, LL3 (formerly called the Lara Lynn Trio).

LL3 consist of Kid Kazooey (lead singer, songwriter and vocalist of the BallRoom Roustabouts) on keyboards, and Lara Lynn (The BallRoom Roustabouts’ own ‘Gantzy Dander’, or ‘Mrs. Kazooey’, our amazing drummer and background vocalist, now fronting the band as lead vocalist of LL3! Their common 3rd member is the fantastic Danny Deckard on drums (who has subbed on drums for our Gantzy Dander during times of need), and sometimes the illustrious Steve Mascari on bass (former BallRoom Roustabout drummer, from the mid 90’s! ‘Papa Giovanni’!). LL3 specializes in the music of Hoagy Carmichael and Cole Porter, while hitting other great american songwriters of the 30s through the 60s, always keeping things Light, Sweet, and Upbeat!

We hope to see you at a show or two this summer!
